What is Christ Care all about?

People caring about people and
developing Christian disciples

Our congregation is a caring community that is equipping itself, and others, for the Lord's service. The very heart of this is our Christ Care ministry where small groups of people gather to worship and pray, study God's word, and minister to others. Some of these groups, like choir and altar guild, often minister to members of our own congregation. Others draw together to study the word of God, and still others reach out to those beyond our congregation by providing food for the homeless and other such outreach activities.

If you are interested in visiting us or one of our Christ Care groups you are invited to contact us by calling (703) 356-5733 or by e-mailing us at stdunstans@aol.com in McLean, Virginia.

Frequently Asked Questions....

  • Can you really trust what is written in the Bible?
  • What does it mean to be a "Real" Christian?
  • If I wanted to find out about the prophecies in the Old Testament and how they were fulfilled by Jesus where would I look?
  • A friend told me that Jesus is still alive.  How can that be when he died some 2,000 years ago?

If you have ever asked these questions -- or have been asked these kinds of questions but didn't know how to answer them -- then a ChristCare small group from St. Dunstan's may something you should consider.

What is ChristCare all about?

Our Christ Care groups are people caring about people; developing Christian disciples; and focusing on:

Biblical Equipping:

One of the things our Christ Care groups do is meet to study scripture...

... to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
(Eph 4:11-13)

Mutual Care:

These groups also minister to each other and those outside our congregation...

... Praise be to God...who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.
(2Cor: 3-4)

Prayer and Worship:

Our groups also pray and minister through their worship, the choirs being just one example.

...in view of God’s mercy, ...offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God -- which is your spiritual worship.
(Rom 12:1)

Missional Service:

Our Christ Care groups also reach out to others outside our congregation. Examples include support for Samaritan Ministries; feeding the homeless; and providing clothing, housing, and food through SHARE, Inc.

...What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? ...faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
(James 2:14,17)
